Drawing inspiration from her mother and online tutorials, fashion designer Sarah Hambly embarked on her sewing journey. Despite initial hurdles and a fair share of trial and error, she has honed her skills over the past four years, crafting breathtaking dresses. Recently, Sarah unveiled a captivating collection of dresses she created in 2020. Within a mere week, her designs took Twitter by storm, amassing hundreds of thousands of likes and capturing the hearts of fashion enthusiasts worldwide.

Sarah says that since COVID forced many of us indoors for a big portion of 2020, she wanted to help herself and others pass time by sewing and getting others interested in sewing. “Normally, when a dress is finished, I would photograph them and then rent them out for other photographers to use, [but because of the pandemic] I haven’t had the chance to photograph as much as I liked, so I have kept them until I can showcase them properly,” said the designer.

The designer says that dresses can cost between $2, like the dress she made from a thrifted shower curtain, to thousands of dollars if fabrics like fiber optics are used. Sarah also tries to make a lot of textiles herself, so the price can quickly stack up. “I make them all myself, each one is bespoke, and I don’t tend to repeat any designs more than once,” explained the designer.
