Bold Innovators: Fashion Students Push Boundaries with Creative Designs

In art in general and fashion in particular, the line between the beautiful and the ugly is always fragile. Fashion isn’t always about flowing, flawless, head-to-toe outfits like Chanel’s elegant tweed suits, or Dior’s flowing gowns. Fashion at times looks weird, confusing, not at all practical like the deconstructed designs of Rei Kawakubo, Martin Margiela. Sometimes fashion becomes comfortable, colorful, messy as if it doesn’t follow any rules.

What are the Ugly, the Beautiful, and the Creative in Fashion Design?

You can evaluate Ugly, Beautiful based on the principles of color scheme, layout, layout of seams, etc. as the theory has been learned. However, it is not always good and bad are clearly delineated based on principles. Sometimes it is the imperfect details, the deliberate deviation that makes fashion interesting. It is Creativity hidden under the label of “Bad” fashion.

They bring a message, reflecting the currents of thought and culture that exist around us that beautiful, well-designed old ways cannot convey. Of course, there is still a clear difference between a poor quality product and a purposefully Bad design.

Confining yourself to the inherent norms of ugliness and beauty is what kills creativity.

“To be creative is to see things in a different way” – Creativity is seeing things in a different way. Confining yourself to the inherent norms of ugliness and beauty is what kills creativity.
